Murrells Inlet's Blessing

Tuesday, September 9th at 8:42am in Murrells Inlet, our lives changed forever...

Two months ago, Derek and I walked into the waiting room of a hospital with so many emotions. We sat in the waiting room waiting on Weston's birthmom.

I snapped the following picture thinking that it showed so much of this journey. The highs and lows and that we would be leaving this hospital as a family of three!

Our birthmom came in with her mom and we were beyond blessed that they are like family to us! Hugs were exchanged and fears were settled. Conversations began and it was as if we had known each other forever. God had made this moment perfect in his timing! The years of tears and longing to be a mom had been leading up to this moment of reassurance that we were never forgotten but given this perfectly planned gift!

(Yep, the tears are flowing again!)

We were called back for the c-section to begin! I sat in the surgery prep area while the staff got her ready. The nurse came back to get me and I was literally pushed in the door because little did I know but he was almost out. I sat on my stool and held Weston's birthmom's hand as we watched him take his first breath and heard his first cry! Along with his first cry were our cries for him as well! He was 7lbs 4oz and 20 inches of PERFECT!

Here we are holding our sweet miracle for the first time!

Yes! I had been crying happy tears!

We spent the next three days praying and loving on Weston. Praying for the birthmom and for our patience! Those three days were full of walking a delicate balance of wanting to spend every second with Weston and knowing that his birthmom needed time with him. Time to tell him all of her hopes and wishes for him and to express the love that she will always have for him! We definitely did love on him during those three days and we stayed in the hospital with him on Thursday night. It was the sweetest time!

The next day was one of patience, excitement and heartbreak! We waited in our hospital room until around 2pm. Then we went into our birthmom's hospital room and filled the next 30 minutes with hugs, tears, wishes, promises and prayer! It was a moment that I will never forget! I will never forget the love in that room for a three day old precious little boy who has a giant part of all of our hearts!

A sweet nurse came in and prayed with us after we left the birthmom's room. Her daughter had given the sweetest gift to another couple a few months earlier so she came in to reassure us. We joined hands with her around Weston and she prayed the most precious prayer!

Our whole experience in Murrells Inlet was one God moment after another and it was amazing to see His promises unfold & my doubts be wiped away.

At 3pm on Friday, September 12th, we brought home the sweetest gift! We cried, laughed and celebrated all the way home because of our Murrells Inlet Blessing!

Love yall!

The Difference Two Years Can Make!

My TimeHop app popped up this afternoon and my how things have changed in two years...

Two years ago I was a day away from getting devastating news that our IVF had not been successful. Two years ago I felt like I was broken and would never be whole again. But Praise The Lord that He knew the desires of my heart and knew that I needed to trust Him and wait! That His plan was going to blow all of my plans out of the water! He knew all along that those two years were going to expand my faith & patience and remind me that no matter how hard I work it is in vain if it isn't His plan and in His timing.

I say all of this to tell you that although nothing is ever certain in the world of adoption that an expectant mom has chosen us!!! We weren't the next in line but she chose us from a tremendous lineup of waiting families! She wants us to adopt her sweet baby boy when he is born in 5 and 1/2 weeks! SHE CHOSE US! We are beyond humbled! We are simply shocked and stunned that we have only waited 4 months with our agency!

We fell in love with the expectant mom and her mom today & we are looking forward to building an incredible relationship with them! It is surreal! Yesterday and today have felt like an incredible dream! We don't even know where to start...

Please pray for our sweet expectant mom that she is able to rest and that she is kept in a protective bubble. I am so thrilled that this wonderful woman is going to make me a mommy!
What a difference two years can make!!!

Love y'all!

We are OFFICIAL!

Derek and I are officially an approved family! Excitement is filling our house as we anticipate the blessings that God has for us as we see this journey continue!

I can't help but cry tears of joy as we are seeing His faithfulness through each phase of adoption! Our God is good and it is made more evident each day.

Three Prayer Requests:

1) Please pray for our patience as we wait for the perfect child/ children!

2) Please pray for the moms who come into the adoption agency to view our book or who go online to & view our profile! Each of them are making such a hard decision and we hope that our book just radiates the love that we have for this precious child that we don't even know yet!

3) Please pray for us as we continue to save money for our sweet Baby Parker!

Love y'all!

One More Step Closer

Tomorrow, Derek and I have our interview with the agency which is another step for our home study. We are so excited to be moving a little closer to bringing Baby Parker home. Thank you for all of your prayers and shared excitement as we go through the process!

Also, a big shout out to our sweet friends JT and Mary who brought us a ton of fabulous stuff for Baby Parker! They really loaded us up and the glider is perfect for the nursery! Thank y'all for the awesome baby items!

Now, we are looking for a car seat and stroller for Baby Parker. There are so many different kinds and we are slightly overwhelmed. I would love to know if anyone has a type that they love. I need all the help that I can get. :)

Love y'all!

Right on time - Never Late or Too Early

Through this whole journey I have been wondering:
How is our story going to play out?
Where will we be going?
What emotions are going to be rushing through our minds when we get THE call?
What is the woman (who is making me a mom) going to be like?
What feelings are going to be pouring through us as we hold our child for the first time?

As most of you know I'm a planner! I need to have a game plan. This journey has been far from being planned out by us. God has led us down a path that we never had planned. We (really it has been me) have had to learn patience and it hasn't been easy. I would be lying if I said  that the wait has been easy and painless, but it has been a time of learning and growing.
This article sums up what I've learned through this journey and still learning!

Now for some FABULOUS news...

We received an email that our home visit for the home study will be this Monday (February 10th) at 10am! HIP HIP HOORAY!

Also, we have been working on finishing the nursery which has been pushed into overdrive because of the home visit. Here are some pictures of the nursery progress! I love this room!

We are so excited about the progress and moving closer to bringing home sweet Baby Parker!

Blissful Waiting

I wish that I could post some fabulous new event that is moving us closer to Baby Parker, but we are waiting. We are waiting not only for our home study to be started/completed but we are waiting for God's perfect timing when we will meet our little one.

Is the waiting frustrating?
You better believe it! But I continuously hear God reaffirming that His timing and plan is more perfect than I can imagine.

All of our paperwork is in and we are just waiting on a social worker. So until we move forward, we are blissfully waiting for the time when God expands our family with sweet Baby Parker!

Love y'all!
